Frequently asked questions

Answers for the most common issues.

Why is the microphone not working?

Bawkwards needs microphone access to record the original phrase and each player attempt. Check iPhone Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Microphone, and make sure Bawkwards is enabled. If you denied access earlier, you can turn it back on there.

I cannot hear the backwards audio. What should I do?

First check that your phone volume is turned up and silent mode is not affecting playback. Then close and reopen the app and try another round. If the issue continues, contact support with your device details and whether the problem affects all phrases or only one round.

How does AI judging work?

Bawkwards can compare each player attempt against the target audio using waveform-style matching to help judge which take is closest. If your group wants full control, you can switch to manual judging and pick the winner yourselves.

Can we judge the round ourselves?

Yes. Bawkwards supports manual judging so your group can decide the winner without AI if that fits the mood of the round better.

How do recap videos work?

After a round, Bawkwards can generate a recap that packages the gameplay into a polished, shareable format designed for Messages and group chats. Share quality may vary depending on device performance and available storage.

Can I use my own phrase?

Yes. Bawkwards supports custom phrases so each round can be more personal, harder, funnier, or more specific to your group.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Email support@soundzy.app with a clear subject line and as much detail as possible. Helpful details include device model, iOS version, app version, steps to reproduce, and screenshots if you have them.
